It's Confirmed: Chicago is the best summer city in the United States

I was at a party a few weeks ago and people were debating the best summer cities in the country. When none of them mentioned Chicago I told them the debate lost all credibility.

Let me make this crystal clear: Chicago is the best summer city in the United States and it's not even a competition.

Ryan Whitney, host of Spittin Chiclets, the best hockey podcast on the planet, explained it better than anyone: "It's bigger than Boston, smaller than New York, and cleaner than both. Friendly people. Beach on lake in the middle of the city. Six sports teams. Unreal golf courses. It's the best." As someone who's traveled all over the country, I have to agree with Whitney. Chicago's got that perfect blend of big city vibes and hometown feel, making it an unbeatable summer destination.

Wrigleyville is an absolute gem, especially if you're a baseball fan and you're lucky enough to see a game there. The atmosphere around Wrigley Field is electric, with die-hard Cubs fans filling the streets and the visiting teams fans as well. Let’s not forget Chicago's downtown scene—it's a mix of impressive skyscrapers, rich history, and a nightlife that keeps the party going. Some of the best meals that I've ever had in my entire life were during one of my many trips to Chicago.

Chicago sports fans are as passionate as Eagles fans, so while we might poke fun at the "Double Doink" playoff miss, you can't help but respect their loyalty and fervor. We're right there with them and share a love of our sports teams.
